Expert community physiotherapy for NDIS participants. Bringing UK-trained neurological rehabilitation experience directly to your home — across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
About John
John Connolly is a UK-trained physiotherapist with extensive experience in neurological rehabilitation, MSK physiotherapy, and NDIS community care — now bringing that expertise directly to participants' homes across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
John's neuro career began at The Rehab Physio UK, where he managed complex caseloads of patients recovering from brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and stroke. He used advanced rehabilitation technologies including the Tyro Station, and worked alongside multi-disciplinary teams, case managers, and solicitors to deliver comprehensive care.
Since returning to Australia, John has built strong MSK experience at clinics in both Perth and the Gold Coast, including a previous role as a Senior MSK Physiotherapist at a GP clinic on the Gold Coast. He currently serves as Physiotherapy Lead at an MSK clinic in Daisy Hill, where he leads the physio team and treats neurological and NDIS patients — combining that clinical expertise with community home visits through Able Movement Physio.
Why Choose Able Movement Physio
There are a lot of NDIS physiotherapy providers out there. Here's what makes Able Movement Physio different.
No rotating staff, no agency workers. Every single appointment is with John Connolly — the same experienced physiotherapist who knows your history, your goals, and what works for you. Continuity of care matters, especially in neurological rehabilitation.
Most mobile NDIS physios come from MSK backgrounds. John trained in specialist neurological rehabilitation in the UK NHS — treating TBI, spinal cord injury, stroke, MS, and CP using advanced technologies including Tyro Station alongside expert multidisciplinary teams. That expertise is now available in your home.
John trained at the University of Central Lancashire and worked within the NHS — one of the world's most rigorous healthcare systems. That training, combined with extensive Australian clinical experience across Perth and the Gold Coast, means you're in exceptionally capable hands.
Rehabilitation is more effective when it happens where you actually live. John works with you in your real home environment — assessing the actual challenges you face daily and building programs that work in your space, not just in a clinic setting.
John works closely with your support coordinators, plan managers, and carers — providing detailed progress reports, clear communication, and documentation that supports your plan reviews. Your whole team stays informed and aligned.
Able Movement Physio was founded because John believed NDIS participants deserved better than a conveyor belt approach to care. Every program is built from scratch around what you want to achieve — whether that's walking to the letterbox, getting back to sport, or simply living more independently.
